Christopher Megahey from Co Antrim wins the Puissance at Emerald International last week end

An incredible performance from sixteen year-old Christopher Megahey from Templepatrick Co Antrim, saw him win Saturday nights Emerald International Puissance, clearing the big red wall at a height of 2 metres 5 centimetres (6 ft 7 inches) with the Britt Megahey owned Cruise On gelding Seapatrick Cruise Cavalier.

Having started at a height of 1.65m the puissance wall grew over four rounds to its final height, with teenager Megahey the only rider to clear the wall in the final round, where Meath’s Gerard Clarke failed at his final attempt with Zanzibar V to finish as runner up. Christopher Megahey claimed the entire €3,000 in the “Winner-Takes-All” contest, which saw former Dublin Horse Show puissance winners, Liam O Meara and Ciscero finish third.
