Greg Broderick and MHS Going Global win the fourth leg of the Horseware/TRM Premier Grand Prix.
Cork Summer Show continued today with the Horseware/ TRM premier Grand Prix taking centre stage in the main arena. 32 combinations took on the track built by Course designer Tom Holden.
Tipperary’s Greg Broderick and MHS Going Global took the top spot with a double clear in a time of 41.11. Owned by Caledonia stables this 8 year old gelding by Quidam Junior I has shown promise of great things from the start, winning the 5 & 6 year old Irish Breeders Classic in 2012, qualifying twice for the RDS and recording several placings at National Grand Prix level as a 7 year old.Â
Consistent combination Damien Griffin and Tabby came fresh from a win at the Connaught Grand Prix in Tubberbride to claim the runner up spot today. Pamela Donaghy’s 9 year old bay gelding by Captain Clover out of a Cruising mare is also a graduate of the ISH Studbook series having won both as a 5 year old and a 6 year old.Â
With only two double clears on the day, a faultless second round was enough to give Dean Rogan and Falco Van Spieveld third placing, carrying one time fault from the first round.
A successful Cork Summer Show now comes to a close for another year, hosted by the Munster Agricultural Society, ExperienceFest 2014 has been an evolution of the Cork Summer Show which began in 1826 and is one of Ireland’s oldest agricultural shows.Â
The feast of top class showjumping continues this coming week at National Balmoral Show with the Horseware/ TRM National Grand Prix on Tuesday 15th and the fifth leg of the Horseware/ TRM Premier Grand Prix League on Wednesday 16th July.Â
