Connolly’s RED MiLLS Brand Ambassadors

Connolly’s RED MILLS Brand Ambassadors enjoyed another phenomenal weekend on the Longines Global Champions Tour circuit, with Bertram Allen, Scott Brash and Edwina Tops-Alexander between them scoring three wins and a Grand Prix podium finish in Mexico City.
Connolly’s RED MILLS were the official Feed Supplier to the opening two LGCT events at Miami Beach and Mexico and also at Shanghai in a fortnights time.
Bertram Allen recorded a superb third place finish in the €400,000 Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix, which took place in Mexico City in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Allen and the stallion Hector Van d”Abdijhoeve were one of just four combinations to jump clear in the opening two rounds, as the prestigious five-star Global Tour visited Mexico for the very first time.
Nine-year-old Hector looked a picture of health as the exuberant stallion galloped around the course to leave Allen on the podium – following on from a win in the Global Champions League a week earlier in Miami.
Another member of the Connolly’s RED MILLS team, Britain’s Scott Brash, was also in stunning form in Mexico where he recorded two victories.
Friday’s fiercely competitive Trofeo Massimo Dutti competition saw Brash top a field of 44 riders representing 10 different nations.  Brash brilliantly piloted the 10-year-old Oldenburg gelding Hello Forever to a fantastic win in front of the cheering Mexican audience.
“It was a very fast class I thought and you had to go for it from the first fence. But we hit everything right and he jumped fantastic,”  Brash underlined the high calibre of sporting competition, saying: “The best horses and riders are at these sort of events so it’s great to get a win in any class.”
Brash and Hello Forever were back on top of the podium on Sunday when they won the Banorte Trophy 1.50m. In fact it was a RED MILLS one-two as another Connolly’s RED MILLS Ambassador, Edwina Tops-Alexander slotted into second place with the feisty mare Lintea Tequila.
Mexico hosted the second round of the new Global Champions League and after Bertram Allen’s win a week earlier in Miami, RED MILLS Ambassador Edwina Tops-Alexander this time took the winner’s trophy when paired with Janne-Friederike Meyer (GER) representing Shanghai Swans.
